AFA '08

Heh...it seems like my blog is like a one month one post one based on the pass few posts. Haha. Well, at least better than not writing anything I suppose.

Anyway, went to the AFA last weekend. It was pretty cool overall. The display they put up were very nice!!! Haha..got Gundam, Saint Seiya, Final Fantasy and alot of other cool figurines. Among those, I particularly like the Saint Seiya display they have there. It was totally awesome! Especially the gold saints. They also have Kamen Rider and Super Sentai figurines as well!!! Woooo~~! But somehow I think they used the name Power Rangers Operation Overdrive instead of Boukengers...I prefer the latter...

The entrance fee was $5 but somehow I managed to get in free..hehe. So it was really worth the trip. And the night concert's pretty good too. Heard the song Alones while playing PSP at one corner and heard from my friend that it's some local band performing. Man..I must say the song's really good...seems like I still have a long way ahead of me huh..haiz. Haha. Then of course the main attraction was the live performance by May'N. Honestly, I didn't know who she was lo..lol. Later then found out she was some new singer who's really young(17 or 18 if I'm not wrong) and apparently she was one of the theme song performers for Macross Frontier. Then again, I don't watch the Macross series so it's no surprise I didn't know her, especially she's new...but her singing was excellent!

Below are a few pictures taken for the day...

Never forget the psp! Haha

Too tired...

Have anyone notice how the superiors in an working environment always pushes all the blame to you whenever there's a slightest hint of trouble. They will always come up with the "You should have done this" theory to make it sound as if you are not doing your job. But seriously, do you EVEN possess the ability to anticipate things? Are you GOD? Besides, you can be very efficient and get most of the things done nicely, but in the end your work never gets appreciated by anyone. Yup, no one! And whenever something happens, you take all the blame and you immediately become some incompetent worker. That's the society for you, if you are just only the grunt that is.

The other day, while reading some forums, I came across a similar situation. Remember the incident about China's diary products? Well, what I saw was this post that was talking about how inefficient S'pore is to neglect this problem for so long.
"They should have checked the quality of the items before importing them in". Yup, if you noticed, it's that "You should have done this" theory again! I'm really really really tired of this phrase, really! And remember the incident about some kid flying out of the school bus or something? There was some comment by parents about "The school bus should have seat belts in the first place". Another case of the "You should have done this" theory again. I have nothing more to say anymore...I guess you can already see what I mean. Let's think of the other way round, if S'pore really did conduct checks on EVERY SINGLE ITEM before importing them in, will their effort even be appreciated? No, because it's their job right? That's what everyone always says. Your job this your job that and when there's problems, it will be your fault this and your fault that. And do they even think about how much effort it will take to check every single item everyday? That's society for you. And the bus issue, if nothing happens and the bus wants to install seat belts for the children, but need to rise the bus fare. I bet everyone will be making noise about how unnecessary that is and such an idea is only used for raising bus fare and not really for the sake of those children. Well, again, that's society for you.

In any case, my situation is no different from this, since I'm in the society after all and I also understand that people will always find some ways to push the blame to others so as to protect themselves or just for feeling better. But still, I'm realli tired...too tired... It was this time that I suddenly recall the chinese saying, about reducing the big problem to small problem, and reduce the small problem to no problem. But somehow the situation I see is in total reverse. Small problem will always escalate into big problem and even when there's no problem, someone will definitely find some problem for you...that's society again I guess...haiz...really, what more can I say?

Diamon Dust Rebellion

Wooooo!!! Finally! A chance to watch the second movie for Bleach...and this one is so much better than the first one. Oh man...can't wait for the 3rd movie, FADE TO BLACK to be released, which I guess I'll probably have to wait for the next year. sian. Haha. So anyway, for those who still didn't realise there was a movie for bleach, the second movie was entitled Diamond Dust Rebellion. It's about Hitsugaya Toushiro meeting a friend of his who should be dead long ago. That friend of his, Kusaka, is sentenced to death by Soul Society years ago, when he and Hitsugaya possess the same Zanpakutou and were forced into a deathmatch. But he did not die and hence he's back to take revenge, by using the King's Seal, an item which can control time and space. Although he created quite an uproar in Soul Society, he was still defeated in the end though. Haha...i guess the good guys always emerge victorious in the end huh.

The other day I came across something interesting in the newspaper. There was this article that talked about how dreams might be reality and reality might be a dream. There was this passage from a chinese philosopher. He talked about having a dream where he was a butterfly. Halfway in his dream he woke up. He then starts to wonder, whether he was a man dreaming that he was a butterfly, or whether he is a butterfly dreaming that he is a man. Sounds kinda crazy, but it really makes me wonder, whether the reality which I think I am experiecing now really a reality, or am I just a dream created when the real me is sleeping. Dreams often seems absurd, where the impossible could happen, but what things could not happen? Maybe the world where we experienced in a dream have impossible things which are common to them, and the things we experiece now might be impossible on the other world? Or maybe what we see is just a fragment of our "real" memory and it's partly made up or too fuzzy to the extent that we see ridiculous stuffs? We could be the dream when we think we are awake and when we sleep we might actually be waking up in the "real world". Hmmm...even I also don't know what I am uttering le...lol. Well, nvm, forget that. Haha.

I watched the movie Ultraman Mebius and Ultra Brothers and as weird as it might sound, but the movie's actually pretty awesome! Especially the last battle, where everything was CG-lised...the effects are simply too cool. The ending song's great too! Already become one of my favourite songs le. I even tried singing the song.

Another song which I sang recently is 1/3 Junjou no Kanjou from the old school anime Rurouni Kenshin.

Going into chinese songs

After singing too many japanese songs, I was finally told by my friends to sing eng/chi since they don't know what I am singing... As such, I've decided to give chi songs a try. And this is my latest work. Hope it's good. And btw, can someone suggest nice chi songs for me to work on? Coz I don't know any chinese songs up til now(Ya, realli!).

C.D.E!!!

Yesterday met up with David and Jun Hao for lunch, afterwhich we played PS. Haha. A pity Ziheng went ROC though. Among the games we played was KOF Maximum Impact, where we finally created our own team C.D.E! Lol. Hope next time we can use this team in the arcade. We also played Metal Slug 6, and we almost lost at the last stage, when David used up the last credit and went game over. Haha. Lucky we made it through though. What a close shave...hehe.

Bouken Spirits!!!

Lately I just started watching Boukenger and it's amazing!!! The characters are pretty cool, as well as the special effects and fighting scenes, not to mention the storyline as well. The story is about an ancient priest of a doomed civilisation awakening and is after the ancient artifacts that could power up ancient machinery or cause adnormal effects. These artifacts are known as Precious. Moreover, there are two more tribes after these artifacts as well, besides the ancient priest. They are the Jaryuu(Evil Dragon) Tribe and Dark Shadow(A ninja tribe). To counter this terror, a secret organisation, SGS Foundation has developed its own special operations team, the Boukengers, to do battle and collect some of the more dangerous Precious.

And below are the main characters of the series:

Akashi Satoru
The Fiery Adventurer, as BoukenRed he drives GoGo Dump and leads the team with a calm expression and a fire in his heart. He mostly battles against Ryuuwon of the Jaryuu Tribe. And he's the coolest red ranger I've seen so far. Able to take on most enemies alone and not to mention having a cool composure and being hot-blooded at the same time.

Inou Masumi
The Fast Adventurer, as BoukenBlack he drives GoGo Formula, a racecar-like vehicle, and is only part of the Boukengers to pay his debt back to Akashi for saving his life. He has a personal vendetta against Yaiba of Darkness of Dark Shadow. He started as someone who would do anything in order to accomplish his goals but as time pass, he realise the trust his companion has in him and in turn fights to protect them. He's one of those cool guy with a cold attitude but cares for his companion type.

Mogami Souta
The High-Up Adventurer, as BoukenBlue he drives GoGo Gyro, an airplane-like vehicle, and serves as the team's information specialist. He finds himself fighting Shizuka of the Wind of Dark Shadow. Hmm...this guy seems like a womaniser at first glance but as the show goes on, he shows a caring side towards women and always maintains a carefree attitude. Another character with a cool personality. It is also revealed later that he used to work as a spy and sell information to other countries but after he learned that such methods would only cause more war and suffering to the people, he decides to be an adventurer instead.

Mamiya Natsuki
The Strong Adventurer, as BoukenYellow she drives GoGo Dozer, a giant bulldozer, and is the most childish of the group. Her main reason to adventure was to discover more about her own past. It is later revealed that she is the last survivor of the Lemurian civilization. The childish type...hmmm...I wonder if this was also another cool personality as well. Haha

Nishihori Sakura
The Deep Adventurer, as BoukenPink she drives GoGo Marine, a giant submarine, and is the most serious member of the team when it comes to work. She often appears to be cold and emotionless, but cares for her teammates. What else to say? A pretty girl with a serious and cold attitude. Cool.

Takaokami Eiji

The Dazzling Adventurer, as BoukenSilver he drives GoGo Fire and serves as the spiritually strongest of the team because his father, the Ashu Watcher Kando wed with the Ashu Kei, making Eiji half-Ashu. He mostly battles against Gai (as either form) due to their bitter history. Needless to say, the extra ranger is always cool. His looks tells it already anyway.

THUNDERFLAME DAY!!!

Yesterday met up with my thunderflame partner Bryan and we finally did the vampire knight opening song, Futatsu no Kodou to Akai Tsumi. Woooo~. Spent almost a whole afternoon doing that though. And this is our final product.

After that, I did the tv-size World End (by Flow) with Bryan coz my friend here happens to be a great Code Geass fan and couldn't resist the song. Haha. Being a short song which last not more than 2 minutes, it sure took us alot of effort to complete it as we had around 6-7 "NG"s in between, somemore is sing for a while, then watch some youtube videos, then back to singing again. Lol. Talking bout watching youtube videos, we came across this, the second trailer for squaresoft's upcoming psp game Dissidia. omg, Squall is just too cool. And Ultemecia is just too...cheap. Haha.

Having done with singing and some 'youtubing', we then proceed to play Soul Calibur III and Basara X! I used Sanada Yukimura while Bryan used Date Masamune. The battle was so heated!!! (pictures below)

A clash between me and Bryan:

A more deadly clash:

Decides to fight close range since projectiles doesn't seem to work out:

Projectile clash again! Dragon vs Phoenix:

Break-up - Digimon 02 Evolution Theme

Biggest Dreamer - Digimon Tamers Opening Theme

It's here!

Haha, can't believe it! My song made it up to youtube and I'm not the one who posted it.

But then again, dunno whether it's a good thing or a bad thing coz I actually screwed up half the song by forgetting the lyrics and just anyhow throw in words that came to my mind. Haha.

Anyway, here's a few jokes I read just now. There was this conversation between two people, A and B. A saw one of those 'chan' (a type of insect...dun remember its english name) and ask B "Don't you think those 'chan's very pitiful? They hid in the ground for so long and when they finally came to the surface, they only have a week to live". Then B's response was that we cannot gurantee those chan is not having a good life below the surface. Maybe they had all they need and enjoyed life and before they die, they have those "die die also must score a goal" attitude and come to the surface to see-see before they die.
Next, A saw B killed a mosquito and asked "Don't you find mosquitos pitiful? They suck blood becoz they need to give birth but was killed as pests". And B's response was that our skin itch after bitten coz of the mosquito saliva. They are those cheapskates who eat for free and after that still spit on you and say the food's not nice.

Eh? Not funny? Haha...

Post Cosfest

Today finally sang at the karaoke competition at cosfest...but, haiz, turns out that I was still unable to keep my nervous side down. Ends up forgetting the lyrics for the second half of the song and just anyhow use whatever words that comes to my mind to sing. Man, why must I forget the lyrics at such a time...it's so saddening...I even forgot what I was gonna blog...sob...

Performing at Cosfest

Kyaaa...can't believe it...I'm really in for the cosfest singing competition and it's just only 3 days away from now, and I've yet to memorise the lyrics. And worse...dun think I can sing well now coz of the mixed feelings...guess I have to cool myself down first. Afterall, a cool guy must always be cool right? Haha.

Well, back to gaming. Just finished Suikoden and YAY, I finally got the best ending. Didn't manage to get it the last time I play coz I missed out Futch and Humprey and dun have a chance to recruit them until RockAxe Castle is taken down. Currently playing Legend of Dragoon and yes, I know there's still tons of psp games out there that I haven't even started on but somehow there's this urge to play the psx games I've cleared before.

As for anime, Vampire Knight has ended and there's still so much more!!! Guess they will come up with a season two or something half a year later like gundam 00. Lately I've watched Tales of Earthsea. A nice anime overall, but some parts a bit hard to grapse and some parts simply boring. They do have excellent graphics for an anime though. One thing interesting in the show is the theory that trying to find the way for immortality is to forsake death, and by that also means forsaking life, as the value of life will become meaningless without death. Just like there's shadow whenever there's light, death will forever accompany life. Hmmm...chim isn't it? Haha. Ore mo wakaranai.

Suikoden once more!

The other day, while browsing through psp games, I happened to come to the psx section where they had all the psx games for psp. I couldn't help but get my hands on Suikoden II, one of my old favourites. Also got myself Final Fantasy VII and VIII, but will probably play those later.

So anyway, I've once again started Suikoden II. Currently enlisted the help of Toran Republic and preparing to fight Luca, and I've already recruited around 70+ characters.

A time for catching up

LOL!! It's been another long time since I logged in to my own blog sia. Haha...more than a month.

Hmmm...lately I've been catching up with friends. First there was the class outing a week ago. Though not many people showed up, I'm still glad that I went..it's great to see everyone again. Went to eat japanese style cuisine at Sakae Sushi near jurong point. lol. It's actually my first time eating japanese food despite my interest in japanese culture. The food's a bit ex but it was nice.

Well, putting the class outing aside, I've also met up with my "first 3-months" JC friends yesterday...Bryan, Spectre Ben and Yongzen. Played Naruto and man, spectre ben is as cheap as ever...always running away and only using the support character to attack. Meanwhile, Yongzen was pretty funny as he used the puppeteer-type characters to fight in a humourous way (especially the granny. haha) After that we went to queensway to take a look around. Psst, just between those who read this and me, me and Bryan actually signed up for the singing competiton at cosfest next month. Haven't receive any official reply that we are in for the competition but just in case we are in, we intend to get some nice clothings for our performance...thus we went to queensway. Saw some nice clothings...maybe we'll get them if we are confirmed for the competition. Haha.

As for today, I went out with my close friend during my secondary school days. Yup, it was Daniel. Pretty much talking cock...or rather, talking deng. We've been talking about Mr.Deng throughout and we refreshed all the good times we had with Mr.Deng. Ah...those were the times...haha. We went to watch the Incredible Hulk. The movie was nice with all those awesome CG and etc., but it was sort of a funny movie for us as we imagined Deng becoming the Hulk himself and kena attacked with water. And of course, the potassium dichlromate.(wink)

Haha, yup, so basically these 2 weeks I've been meeting my friends from different time periods of my school life. Lately, I've also been playing PSP instead of PS2...found out that there's actually alot of games that are just as nice as PS2 games. Mainly playing Yugioh Tag Force but a bit sad coz could not find many people to play with and the ones I find thus far didn't really put up a challenge. Also played Pacman World Rally with my sis. Haha. The games a bit funny since it's not some normal racing game, but those cartoon type where you can shoot the vehicles in front of you to stun them or lay down mines behind you, or even activate "pac-man" mode, where you simply "eat" your opponents. Another game I've been playing lately was Brave Story. The story turns out to be rather nice, so I stopped halfway and went to watch the anime before continuing again...and after watching the anime, I must say that the anime was great! One of the best I've seen so far.

Haiz, a bit sad these days though. Two of my best friends in my army life has now posted to another camp and we hardly see each other these days le. Ben, Ah Leong, hope can gather with you guys again! Haha.

Never sang songs lately, but here's a preview of what Thunderflame is going to perform at cosfest:

And this is the memory from last week's class gathering:

Registering for driving course

Today woke up rather early...sort of having nothing to do so finally decide to go to BBDC to register for my driving course. When I entered the place, I was sort of lost. Went to the info counter in hope of getting some info but they only handed me a phamplet and nothing else. End up still lost anyway. So had to find some help and the person I called was David and who could have guessed it? David is there as well, only at the second level...so went up there and really found him...talk about being gay! LOL. Well, end up spending time with him for the rest of the day as we went to eat and walk around IMM after that.

Hmmm...come to think of it, rather gay...meeting a male friend by coincidence and go around together for more than half a day. Haha, who cares, afterall today's kinda fun.

Just another random post

It's Labour Day!!! ...or rather...15 minutes after labour day. Haha. Just finished watching the movie version of Naruto Shippuuden and for the first time Naruto seems sorta cool at the last part where he pulled the Miko out from Mouryou. Of course, Neji is still the best! LOL. His analysis of the enemy was perfect and managed to end the battle easily through strategy and his rokujyuunyoushou. Oh, and it seems like there's gonna be another movie coming up. This time Sasuke will once again team up with Naruto against a common enemy. The movie is entitled Naruto Shippuuden - Kizuna (Bond) - and is due to be out in the cinemas in August...though it might take a longer time for the subbed version to be out. Anyway, check out the official web - http://www.tv-tokyo.co.jp/anime/naruto/movie08/. There's a cool trailer there that fans of Naruto/Sasuke would not want to miss.

Recently I've completed Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. The story took me by surprise though. I've always thought Zack died in Nibelheim but it turns out that Sephiroth was not the one who took him down but rather Shinra did. Though it's a pretty known fact that Zack will surely die at the ending, the last part was just too sad...Zack fighting till his last breath and memories of his friends flash by one by one as he is dying...

The thing I liked about Crisis Core is Loveless and how the story kept focusing on it.

Loveless - Prologue
When the war of the beasts brings about the world’s end
The goddess descends from the sky
Wings of light and dark spread afar

She guides us to bliss, her gift everlasting

Loveless - Act I
Infinite in mystery is the gift of the goddess
We seek it thus, and take it to the sky
Ripples form on the water’s surface
The wandering soul knows no rest

Loveless - Act II
There is no hate, only joy
For you are beloved by the goddess
Hero of the dawn, Healer of worlds
Dreams of the morrow hath the shattered soul

Pride is lost
Wings stripped away, the end is nigh

Loveless - Act III
My friend, do you fly away now?
To a world that abhors you and I?
All that awaits you is a somber morrow
No matter where the winds may blow
My friend, your desire

Is the bringer of life, the gift of the goddess
Even if the morrow is barren of promises

Nothing shall forestall my return

Loveless - Act IV
My friend, the fates are cruel
There are no dreams, no honor remains
The arrow has left the bow of the goddess
My soul, corrupted by vengeance

Hath endured torment, to find the end of the journey
In my own salvation
And your eternal slumber
Legend shall speak

Of sacrifice at world’s end
The wind sails over the water’s surface
Quietly, but surely

And last but not least, Genesis's version of the last act:

Even if the morrow is barren of promises
Nothing shall forestall my return
To become the dew that quenches the land
To spare the sands, the seas, the skies
I offer thee this silent sacrifice

A Time Lost Forever...

Iyah...sashiburi da na. It's been another long time since I last blogged. Been absorbed into gaming and anime-ing lately.

Recently got myself a PSP out of interest and I must say it's very impressive for a handheld console!!! Haha. Tried out Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII. Overall the storyline's great and the gameplay is interactive. It's said that the missions are what really made the gameplay cool but after playing through the same few maps with no particularly important storyline, I sort of got bored and just chiong thru the game as usual. One thing's not so good bout this is that there's too little generated maps and you are just travelling between a few place. Well, I guess I can't be too choosy given this is just a PSP game and a 1.60+ gb file wun be able to support much stuffs with high quality graphics. Also tried a NIS game - Dragoneer's Aria. As always, there's an option for changing the voice track to japanese and that's really awesome. The VAs are great in bringing out the characters and their dialogue's pretty humourous as well. The translation's a bit off though. Haha.

As for anime, I just finished watching .hack//Trilogy not long ago. Hmm...how should I put it, the CGs are nicely made and the show did highlighted the main points of the story...but there's a hell lot of things missing and that itself spoils the story in my opinion. Would have preferred them to create 3 separate movies instead of squeezing everything into one but oh well, it's already like this so there's nothing that can be do to help. Putting that aside, I totally enjoyed the parody mode. That's totally LOL...especially the twisted personality of Ovan. Haha.

Well, back to the topic. Yesterday tried to get my friends in JC together for a talk cock session and hang around plaza singapura. I did managed to get all of them to come together, and I have a enjoyable time with them as well...but, I came to realise that somethings just ain't the way it was before. Somehow, even though everyone seemed the same, there seemed to be a large ravine that splits the ground that we once stood and the memories that is created during the JC times seems to be fading away into the background...not only that, but the memories with my secondary school friends is also shattering bit by bit by the currents of time... My hand could no longer hold onto the "photo" of memories that are slipping away... ...

Kinda makes me wonder, if the bonds we create with other individuals just an illusion, if the memories we once had together nothing but a fleeting dream...

Good Friday!

Or...maybe Saturday? Haha. Spent the whole of Good Friday sleeping until today. LOL. Naze nara? I've been playing PS2 with my long-time friends Jun Hao and David (a.k.a Marian) from Thursday night all the way to Friday morning. Only slept for one hour in between I guess. Haha. Very tired but very 'shong'. We mainly train on Tekken 5 to horne our tech. Also played Soul Calibur III and Dynasty Warrior 5 Empires.

Started playing Gundam Musou Special lately on the PS2 and mataku, it's totally great! Haha. The only flaw of this game(which I feel la) is the lack of characters. I don't even understand why Jerid plays that large part in the storyline that he appeared as one of the playable characters and moreover, the black Gundam Mk.II he's piloting is not much different from the white gundam Mk.II. Talking about similarity, there's 3 Quebeley with totally same moveset and that's like wth! Haha..i understand that Haman cannot be missed out but certainly Puru and Puru 2 isn't that important isn't it? And series like G Gundam and Gundam W only has two characters each - Domon & Master Asia and Heero & Zechs. If they can include low profile characters in the game, I don't see the reason not to include the ones from G and W.

Talking bout Gundam reminds me of Gundam 00. The latest episode was just too sad. Can't believed one of the main characters, Lockon Stratos actually died, and the last moment almost brought me to tears. I wonder who will pilot Dynames from now on. Maybe Saji? But then again, he has already developed a hatred against Gundams so maybe he wun pilot one afterall...I wonder what his role really is. (A victim only?)

Anyway, I'm more looking foward to the game Musou Orochi-Maou Sairin!!! This time the cast seems to be much more awesome. They've included more myth characters such as Fu Xi and Nu Wa, Jiang Tai Gong and even Sun Wukong! And wow, the new stage Wu Xing Shan definitly looks breath-taking. They even included a new feature where characters from Sangoku and Sengoku mixed with each other and forms teams of 3, each with their own storyline. And this time, the theme song will be sung by High and Mighty Colour, entitled [Toxic].

To end off, this are the new songs which I recently sang.

Long time no Blog!

Haha..yeah..it's been a long time since I posted something here. Just a bit busy lately, especially the Mas Selamat issue!!! I swear I'm gonna cripple his crippled leg and the other leg if I see him (wasted one whole saturday sitting in office to just for standby operation).

Well, anyway, despite the busy schedule, I've managed to complete Yu-Gi-Oh:Beginning of Destiny at last and the game had made me fall in love with the card game all over again. LOL. Contary to what the insect deck I've used in the past, now I've developed a dragon deck of my own, focusing on F.G.D, Armed Dragon and Red Eyes Darkness Dragon as my trump cards. I've also bring this new deck of mine into real life yu-gi-oh, by placing poker cards into card protectors and cover it with printed card images. Haha..yeah..I know it's a bit cheapskate but the cards are too expensive to get and I already have a real life deck in the past and I'm still using it now. So anyone who's also a yu-gi-oh lover but dun have the cards they want can perhaps follow what I do now and maybe we have a duel in future.

Recently I've also happened to come across this interesting quote..."By smiling, you can make life lighter than when you are glooming". However, my theory is, even if this is true, but by wearing a fake smile just for the sake of smiling, will it have the same effect as well? My thoughts might be considered pessimistic, but most of the time, people tend to wear a fake smile just to please those surrounding him but in the end, he only makes life more difficult and complicated for himself. Rather, I do not feel that "glooming", or whatever you called it, is as tiring as it claims to be. For me, I won't say that I exactly "gloom", I am just the type that do not usually smiles, since I do not feel a need to smile when it's not needed. Wearing a fake smile is much more tiring to me. Instead, I do not think of this "gloom" as tiring at all. Afterall, what's so tiring about being natural?

Moreover, from my experience, I've known people who would smile when you talk to them, but when there's some problem, and when he really speaks his mind, you will find all the twisted thoughts such as thinking that people who get close to him is just trying to find ways to make use of him and worse still, even if you are just simply saying "hi" as if it's just a simple greeting to an acquaintance, you are already "setting up a trap for him to fall into". There are more twisted thinkings like this one but I won't comment on it much further.

So anyway, my point is not to say that it's wrong to smile, I'm just saying that it's not as bad as it seems when one does not always wears a smile. Being yourself is the most important thing. Doing things that will contradict your thinkings are what makes life tiring.

Having that said, I will end off my post with this latest song which I sang (as usual)...

Bringing forth the legend of the swords

Yesterday met up with Spectre Ben go visit Bryan's house bai nian. There, we played Soul Calibur Legends...lol...can't believed we played the game straight all the way till afternoon and the impression the game left me was...."IT'S DAMN HARD!!!" Haha. Really, somemore it's rather physically exhausting since it's on the WII and being a WII noob, I swing the controller widely and wasted energy. Bryan, being the Siegfried/Nightmare supporter he is, of course used Siegfried while I played as Lloyd from Tales of Symphonia(Shishi Senkou saved me a lot of times..haha). On the other hand, we witnessed Spec Ben's SM-ing side as he used the character Ivy and seemed to enjoy whipping the golems with that SM outfit. Way to go Spec!

Me and Bryan also decide to re-play Yugioh even though it's not much of an 'in' thing ever since Mediacorp stopped broadcasting the show but hey, what matters is the card game itself right?(actually I do not like the show much but like the game itself) Coz recently there's this new yugioh game on PS2 - Yugioh: Beginning of Destiny. Also another hard game, coz the starter deck that you have right from the start really like shit...mostly monsters with 1200 atk, not much useful trap or magic (besides Swords of Revealing Light) and wth, when I tried to battle Misawa he kept using monsters with 1900 atk and traps like sakuretsu armour. VERY hard to win at first but as I get more cards and start building a fit-enough deck, things starts to get addictive for me and hence I hope can get more people into the game...then can tag duel.

In the afternoon me and Spec met up with Yongzen for dinner. Though Bryan was unable to go with us, we still have a fun time catching up la...haha...afterall dunno how long never see Yongzen le...still remember the old days when he always "Ohm" and flex his chest muscles. LOL.

Yup, it was really good to meet up with them after so long, a pity Kaiquan couldn't make it. Maybe we should meet up again, next time probably playing Bleach or maybe even Gundam Musou if we are meeting from March onwards. Haha.

G Generations Spirit COMPLETE!!!

LOL. Haha...yup, finally completed G Generations Spirit for the PS2 after 2 months. Mataku, this game really takes up a lot of time...with each stage lasting from 1 hour to 2 hour but nevertheless, it is a great game and I really enjoyed it. The highly detailed storyline also provided me alot of story info on the U.C gundam series...especially Crossbone Gundam! Haha...the story is cool..especially the last part where he had to destroy Amakusa(not sure if I got the name right...just spelling it out as how i read it) Gundam with Amuro Ray's AI pattern as its pilot. There's even a return of Judau from Gundam ZZ.

I was also pretty surprised when I played the story arc of Hathaway no Senkou(not sure if I pronouced it correctly again..haha) I never expect Hathaway from Char's CounterAttack to actually make it as a main character and somemore a Gundam pilot. I don't comprehend the story completely since it's in jap but from what I understand, Hathaway became the leader of a terrorist group as he wanted to correct the corruption within the Earth Federation but in the end he still couldn't outmatch the army with his small force and ends up being defeated and eventually the person to execute him was his father Bright (yup, the same Bright from the first Gundam series). Overall it's quite a tragedic story.

Another cool factor about the game that I like is that after completing all stages, the last stage will be unlocked where a alien object is heading towards Earth and the Gundams have to defend against it. It appeared as a large cocoon at first but once it cracks, it turns out that this alien is actually Turn A Gundam and yeah, he's really strong and emits a demonic red aura. Even the whole background change when he comes out from the cocoon. Definitely an image befitting for the last boss of the game. The best (or maybe worst?) feature about him is that even though it's a turn based strategy game, he can actually teleport to any part of the map as he sees fit so he doesn't even seem to be affected by the movement rule...which is actually quite scary since he's your enemy afterall.

Lastly, I would like to present the songs that I made in memory of the game. Haha, even though I've been talking about stories in the later U.C period (U.C 100+), these 3 songs are all from the earlier period (U.C 0079-0088).

Ai Senshi from Gundam
Shine through the storm from Gundam 08th MS Team
Mind Forest from Gundam Zeta: A New Translation

Dreams

This morning, while listening to some radio channel, I came across this story. I don't really remember every exact details so I will just summarise the story based on what I can recall.

The story is about a man born in a family with a long military history. As such, his childhood dream was to become a general. He studied hard in the military school and had always came out as the top soldier among his peers. He was then selected to be an instructor and his excellent performance had earned him quick promotions and he rose up in the ranks in a short period of time. However, he was later posted to overseas and chances of advancing in his rank seems minimal. He did not give up though, and continue to give his best in whatever he does and was finally posted back to his country after a few years. Not long after that, his wife suggested that he leave the military and start up a business. Being a wealthy family with wide connections, it is actually pretty easy to have a stable business and lead a more stable life with no worries. However, he did not give up his dream and choose to remain in the army and his wife soon left him as he was often not around at home. After another few years, he was offered a post by the military. He knew that if he took up the offer, his position will forever be stuck there and his dream of becoming general would be dashed, but if he rejected, he might be seen as not being loyal to the country since he refuse to accept the posting orders by the military. After much consideration, he decided to reject and he eventually become a general at the age of 50, being the youngest general in history.

To be honest, I do not like this story. Despite it being a motivational story of being able to continue advancing and overcome any setbacks or obstacles, I still do not approve of the way this message is imparted through the story. Well, he did reach his dream after all the difficulties he faced in his life, but at the age of 50? What else can he do after that? What is left for him to pursue in his life? Having his family lost for the sake of his dream, where can he find the happiness he deserved after all this? Who will be there to share his joy with him? To put it bluntly, he is nothing more than an empty shell after he had reached his dream. There is no road ahead of him and neither is there a home behind him...he is just a lost soul that has no place to go in the end, and that temporary happiness of achieving his goal will soon turn to bitter hollowness and lonliness. He had spent 50 years of his life chasing that dream without even stopping to take a look at the flowers along the road, and now that he reach the end of the road, what awaits him is only illness and eventually death, not to mention that there will be no one by his side to accompany him for the rest of the years.

If that is the price to pay for fulfilling that dream of his, is it even worth it? There are many chances for him throughout the story, he could have find some way to settle overseas during his posting there and do his fair share of his job while finding ways to enjoy life, he could have listened to his wife back then and start of a business of his own and live a stable life happily with his family, he could have take up the posting offered by his country and focus on finding happiness for the rest of his life while he's still young.

Anyway, I am just stating my opinion la, haha...others might have views on their own so it's really up to you what you think. Overall the spirit of not giving up and overcoming any setbacks is good la, just that you must consider whether the thing that you are pursuing is worth giving up everything. Hmmm...come to think of it, quite the irony isn't it? The guy in the story never gives up, but on ther other hand, he "give up" everything he deserved to have.

Well, enough of that, haha. I've done up another 3 chinese songs recently and here are the links. Thank you to those who have been listening to these songs and giving me advices...I know that I am still far from perfection but your advices will be a great help. Arigatou na!

Persona 3 -Trinity Soul-

While looking through the new animes for this month, I'm quite surprised to find this anime, Persona -Trinity Soul-. It's actually a sequel to the PS2 game Persona 3, which I assumed so since the storyline is set 10 years after the story of Persona 3. Still dunno whether there will be any returning characters from Persona 3 yet but one thing that is confirmed is that Igor is somehow involved in the new anime from the looks of it. Anyway, the official webpage for that anime could be found here. And here's the opening song to the anime...
